  • Job Summary  
    Under the supervision of the Community Engagement Manager, the Development Specialist is responsible for implementing and evaluating Client community engagement activities, including public programs, community meetings, recruitment events, and special gatherings. This role also manages and coordinates all Client events, develops sponsorships and partnerships, and strengthens relationships with community stakeholders. The Specialist works closely with multiple departments and external partners to ensure successful engagement initiatives and events.

    Key Responsibilities
    Community Engagement (75%)
    1. Execute Client Community Engagement Plan in coordination with the Manager.
    2. Schedule, implement, and propose new community-based programs and partnerships.
    3. Build and strengthen relationships with community stakeholders.
    4. Conduct meetings, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to engage the community.
    5. Represent Client at community meetings and external events.
    6. Maintain stakeholder databases and create evaluation mechanisms for initiatives.
    7. Collaborate with Communications to distribute information internally and externally.
    8. Integrate engagement work across Client departments and compile monthly reports for leadership.

    Event Planning (25%)
    1. Plan, implement, and follow up on all Client special events.
    2. Manage event and volunteer databases.
    3. Coordinate volunteer committees, recruitment, training, and acknowledgment.
    4. Oversee event logistics, publicity, advertising, and collateral production.
    5. Develop and manage event budgets.
    6. Solicit silent auction items, prizes, and in-kind donations.
    7. Cultivate sponsorships and donor development programs.
    8. Coordinate with contractors and media for event promotion.

    Secondary Responsibilities
    1. Attend Client meetings, workshops, and trainings as needed.
    2. Assist development department with fundraising activities.
    3. Work flexible schedules to support events and engagement initiatives.
    4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
    2. 2–4 years of experience in community engagement, event planning, or nonprofit development.
    3. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and event management software.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience working in nonprofit or community-based organizations.
    2. Background in sponsorship development and donor relations.
    3. Familiarity with evaluation tools and stakeholder database management.
