  • JOB SUMMARY
    The Registered Nurse -Telemetry Cardiac (Step Down Unit) provides specialized care to patients with cardiac conditions who require continuous monitoring but are stable enough to be treated outside of the intensive care unit. This role is vital in bridging the gap between critical care and general medical-surgical units, ensuring safe recovery and transition.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
    • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and recovery
    • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
    • Assist with procedures such as cardioversion, pacemaker checks, and telemetry setup
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
    • Float between various Med-Surg units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in the State of Washington
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Minimum 3 years of current/recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience
    • Proficient in interpreting EKGs and managing telemetry equipment
    • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
    • Must be Epic EMR proficient (refresher classes or 1:1 support not available)
    • Must pass telemetry competency test on day one
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
    • Experience in ICU or emergency department settings
    • National certification in cardiac or telemetry nursing (e.g., PCCN)
    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Cardiac Telemetry Certification (preferred)
