Job Summary
• Supports surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operating room (OR)
• Assists the surgical team with instruments and ensures sterile technique is maintained
• Ensures proper handling of surgical tools and adherence to infection control standards
• Plays a critical role in promoting patient safety and surgical efficiency
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare the operating room prior to surgical procedures
• Organize and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and tools during surgery
• Maintain a sterile field and enforce infection control standards
• Monitor and restock surgical supplies and equipment as needed
• Set up and break down the OR before and after procedures
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are accounted for post-operation
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure safety and workflow efficiency
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or completion of a surgical technology program
• Minimum of 2 years of recent surgical experience
• COVID vaccination required
Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
