Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Quality Control / Indexing Technician to manage the scanning, indexing, and processing of medical documents. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timely handling of patient records while supporting compliance with HIPAA and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve, scan, and index documents within established timeframes and accuracy levels
- Ensure all scanned documents are properly positioned and labeled
- Merge and insert documents into encounters with 99% accuracy
- Verify that each page includes patient name and medical record number
- Manage daily workload and maintain timely processing of assignments
- Track and manage medical record release requests, including follow-ups with physician offices
- Prepare medical records for physician review and subsequent scanning
- Assist ancillary departments with scanning/faxing reports and other administrative tasks
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and departmental procedures
- Perform additional clerical duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with copiers, printers, and fax machines
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- 1 year of clerical experience, ideally in a Medical Records or healthcare setting
