Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to provide administrative support within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will manage patient communications, maintain medical records, and ensure the smooth operation of daily office activities with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage correspondence
- Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with confidentiality standards
- Prepare and process medical documentation, reports, and billing information
- Assist physicians and healthcare staff with administrative tasks
- Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment
- Manage office supplies and support general office organization
- Handle insurance forms and coordinate with billing departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a medical secretary or in healthcare administration
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical record systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certification in medical office administration
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology
