Job Summary
• Perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during all imaging procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care
• Maintain imaging equipment and adhere to established protocols and quality standards
Key Responsibilities
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures following ACR standards
• Position patients properly to obtain high-quality images
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address any questions or concerns
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
• Operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment, reporting any malfunctions
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and radiation protection standards
• Assist with QA/QC processes and participate in accreditation efforts
• Work effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum 1 year of experience in radiologic or mammographic imaging
• Strong knowledge of mammography procedures and safety protocols
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• Experience with digital mammography and 3D tomosynthesis
Certifications
• ARRT (R) certification
• ARRT (M) certification or eligibility
• State licensure as required
• BLS certification
