Job Summary
The Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis treatments by preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access, and initiating/discontinuing treatments. This role ensures patient safety, accurate documentation, and effective communication with healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient access before cannulation for each treatment.
- Set up and tear down dialysis machines in a safe and timely manner.
- Accurately document necessary data for each patient during treatment.
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and report findings to the nurse.
- Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
- Attend daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
- Perform additional nursing duties as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 6 months of related work experience preferred.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
