JOB SUMMARY Perform diagnostic imaging examinations, including mammograms, to detect abnormalities and assist in the diagnosis of breast cancer.
Key Responsibilities - Operate mammography equipment to produce high-quality images. - Position patients accurately for mammographic examinations. - Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns. - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols. - Ensure proper functioning of mammography equipment and report any issues. - Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. - Perform quality control procedures as required. - Assist physicians with interpretations and biopsies as needed.
Schedule / Shift - Variable shifts, including potential evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED. - Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. - State-specific licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
Certifications - ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification. - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience - Previous experience as a Mammography Technologist.
Skills - Proficient in mammography techniques and procedures. - Excellent patient care and communication skills. - Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
EMR / Systems - Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
Patient Population - Adult patients.
