  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Operating Room (RN-CVOR) to join our surgical team. The RN-CVOR will play a vital role in supporting complex cardiovascular procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, managing surgical instruments, and coordinating with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the operating room.
    2. Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures including open-heart surgeries, vascular grafts, and other complex cardiovascular interventions.
    3. Maintain strict aseptic technique and ensure a sterile surgical environment at all times.
    4. Prepare the OR with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to procedures.
    5. Monitor patient status, administer medications, and document intraoperative events accurately.
    6. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical technologists to ensure efficient and safe procedures.
    7. Respond to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions with sound clinical judgment.
    8. Participate in pre-operative assessments and post-operative patient care planning.
    9. Maintain compliance with all safety standards, infection control protocols, and documentation requirements.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) or related surgical environment.
    3. Proficient understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation.
    4. Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills.
    5. Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Previous experience with robotic-assisted cardiovascular surgeries or advanced OR technologies.
    3. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and surgical scheduling systems.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – required.
    3. CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) – preferred.
    4. Cardiovascular Nursing Certification – a plus.
