  • Job Summary
    The Refill Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting high-volume prescription refill operations in a retail or outpatient pharmacy environment. This role ensures timely, accurate processing of medication refill requests and contributes to efficient pharmacy workflow, patient satisfaction, and compliance with pharmacy standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, thrives in fast-paced settings, and is committed to patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Process prescription refills accurately and efficiently using pharmacy systems
    2. Review refill requests for completeness and follow up with prescribers or patients as needed
    3. Support pharmacists by ensuring timely workflow and prescription queue management
    4. Provide excellent customer service, including answering phones and resolving patient inquiries
    5. Assist with maintaining accurate medication inventory and storage
    6. Prepare prescriptions for final verification by a licensed pharmacist
    7. Follow all regulatory, safety, and confidentiality guidelines
    8. Support general pharmacy operations as needed

    Required Qualifications
    1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a high-volume retail setting
    2. Strong data entry and organizational skills
    3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    4. Excellent communication and customer service skills
    5. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or PTCB certification strongly preferred
    2. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it within 6 months of hire

    Certifications
    1. CPhT and/or PTCB – Preferred; required.
