Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technologist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging, ensuring patient safety and comfort, maintaining MRI equipment, and supporting continuous improvement in imaging procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical expertise, patient-centered care, and strong teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical histories and perform pre-scan screenings to identify contraindications (e.g., pacemakers, metal implants).
- Administer contrast agents under medical supervision and ensure patient safety throughout imaging procedures.
- Explain MRI procedures to patients, address concerns, and maintain a calm and reassuring environment.
- Position patients correctly and operate MRI machines to obtain high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by physicians.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance coordination for MRI equipment; report technical issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant MRI room environment.
- Support training and onboarding of junior MRI technologists or new staff.
- Accurately document procedures, prepare imaging reports, and escalate critical findings when necessary.
- Perform quality assurance checks and ensure adherence to imaging protocols; suggest process improvements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as an MRI Technologist (ARRT or equivalent)
- In-depth understanding of MRI safety protocols and the safe use of contrast media
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective patient care
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient in MRI machine operation and various imaging techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical MRI technology
- Experience training or mentoring junior technologists is a plus
Certifications
- ARRT Certification (or equivalent MRI certification) – Required
