  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Charge Nurse to lead and support the inpatient Perianesthesia Care Unit. The Charge Nurse will oversee daily operations, coordinate patient care, and provide clinical leadership to nursing staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, advanced clinical expertise, and the ability to ensure safe, high-quality care for patients recovering from anesthesia.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff in the perianesthesia care unit.
    2. Coordinate patient care activities, ensuring safe and efficient workflows.
    3. Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia and respond to changes in condition.
    4. Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
    5. Support staff development through mentoring, guidance, and performance feedback.
    6. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
    7. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and unit operations.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
    3. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    4. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification.
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    3. Prior experience in a leadership role within a surgical or critical care environment.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. State RN License (required).
    2. BLS and ACLS (required).
    3. CPAN or CAPA (preferred).
