Job Summary
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role ensures patient safety, provides high-quality diagnostic images, and maintains compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate CT equipment to capture accurate diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic medical systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control procedures.
- Assist with quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and supply management.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.
- Prior experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems.
Certifications (if any)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT – required.
- State licensure (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
