Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to help patients regain mobility, improve physical function, and enhance overall quality of life. This role involves assisting with treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Instruct and guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to supervising therapists
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain equipment in safe working condition
- Provide education to patients and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and home care practices
- Document patient treatments and progress accurately in medical records
- Support patients with encouragement and motivation during therapy sessions
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and rehabilitation practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with supervising therapists
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
Certifications (if any)
- Licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant, as required by state regulations
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
