Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant to support the Department of Surgery in a dynamic clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outpatient care and be comfortable assisting with a variety of surgical-related administrative and clinical tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgical providers with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and preparing exam rooms.
- Support minor procedures and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Manage clinical inventory and restock supplies as necessary.
- Provide administrative support including patient call-backs, documentation, and coordination with other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
- Strong clinical and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in using EMR systems and standard office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a surgical department or specialty clinic.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Certifications (if any)
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) – preferred.
- CPR certification – required.
