  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse (RN) – Occupational Health provides comprehensive nursing care to promote, protect, and restore employee health within the workplace. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating employee health services and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to employee wellness and workplace safety.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct nursing care and first aid to employees for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
    2. Conduct health assessments, screenings, and surveillance programs in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
    3. Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments as prescribed.
    4. Manage case follow-ups for workplace injuries, illnesses, and return-to-work programs, collaborating with employees, supervisors, and external providers.
    5. Participate in workplace safety initiatives and assist in identifying and mitigating occupational health risks.
    6. Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
    7. Educate employees on health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention topics.
    8. Support compliance with OSHA, CDC, and other occupational health regulations and standards.
    9. Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, and Risk Management teams to promote a culture of health and safety across the organization.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required).
    2. Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (Required).
    3. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in occupational health, emergency, or ambulatory care settings.
    4. Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Experience in case management, employee wellness, or public health nursing.
    3. Knowledge of OSHA and workers’ compensation procedures.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
    2. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) – Preferred.
