  • Job Summary
    The Medical Assistant supports internal medicine providers by performing patient intake, clinical tasks, and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient care delivery. This role involves direct patient interaction, accurate documentation, and coordination with the healthcare team to maintain smooth clinic operations.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform patient intake including vital signs, medical history, and chart preparation
    2. Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
    3. Administer medications and immunizations as ordered by providers
    4. Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    5. Manage patient communication via phone calls, patient portals, and in-person interactions
    6. Coordinate scheduling of appointments, follow-up visits, and specialty referrals
    7. Maintain exam rooms with proper supplies, equipment, and cleanliness
    8. Support administrative tasks including forms, consents, and patient education materials

    Required Qualifications
    1. High School Diploma or GED
    2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
    3. Current CPR/BLS certification
    4. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting (internal medicine preferred)
    5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    6. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
    2. 3–5 years of experience in internal medicine or multi-specialty practice
    3. Familiarity with EMR systems and patient portals

    Certifications
    1. CPR/BLS required
    2. CMA or RMA preferred
