  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse needed for a contract position in Somerville, Mass.
    Monday through Friday 8:00am to 6:15pm pm in Pediatrics.
    Saturdays and Sundays 9-5:30 in Pediatric Urgent care.
    * Rotating 24 hour weekdays and weekends also available*



    RN/LPN duties may include:


    -ear lavage


    -oxygen administration


    -eye care/flushing


    -attend a rapid response medical emergency 


    -vasovagal intervention/care/monitoring


    -medication administration; all routes; epipen, nebulizer, inhalers w/spacers, diastat acudial, etc


    -urine straight catheterization male & female; urine specimen collection via bag or clean catch


     -wound cleaning/dressing


    -splint/crutches/ortho care/fitting; ace wraps


    -vital signs including height, weight, head circumference, BP, HR, RR, O2, orthostatic 


    -EKG


    -assess walk ins 


    -assist with wound care such as Dermabond, suture/staple removal


    -PPD skin test read 


    -routine, non-routine and travel immunizations on provider schedule and additional nurse schedule 


    -assisting clinicians with making phone calls to specialists, emergency calls/911/ambulance, hospitals, lab, pharmacy, etc


    -taking calls from lab regarding high-priority test results, pharmacy



    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
    2. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
    3. Strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
    6. Strong experience working in outpatient Pediatrics.
    Certifications
    1. Registered Nurse (RN) license – Required
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
