Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room to provide rapid assessment, treatment, and ongoing care for patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. The Emergency Room Nurse works in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient needs, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on the severity of illness or injury.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, blood products, and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with emergency procedures and interventions.
- Operate and monitor emergency and life-support equipment.
- Stabilize trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and other critically ill patients.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in emergency preparedness, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in an Emergency Department, Trauma Center, Critical Care, ICU, or Acute Care setting.
- Experience caring for trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, and behavioral health patients.
- Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and evidence-based practices.
- Familiarity with triage systems and emergency response procedures.
- Pediatric emergency care experience.
Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (preferred).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification (preferred).
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Certification (preferred).
