Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in a local healthcare setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
- Assist physicians and RNs with examinations, procedures, and patient treatments.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Support patients with daily living activities as needed.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate individualized care plans.
- Report changes in patient condition promptly to supervising staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based goals.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Current and unrestricted LPN license in the state of practice.
- Strong clinical and patient care skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a local healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Advanced certifications such as IV therapy or wound care are a plus.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Additional specialty certifications – preferred.
