    JOB SUMMARY
    Seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist to join our team. The CVOR Tech assists the surgical team during open-heart procedures, ensuring the sterile field is maintained, instruments are prepared and available, and equipment is functioning correctly.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare the operating room for cardiovascular surgical procedures, including setting up specialized equipment and instruments.
    • Assist the surgeon and surgical team during CVOR procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
    • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all aseptic techniques.
    • Operate and troubleshoot various surgical equipment, including but not limited to, heart-lung machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and cell savers.
    • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly with necessary instruments and supplies.
    • Monitor and record vital signs of the patient as directed by the surgical team.
    • Perform post-operative duties, including cleaning and preparing the operating room for subsequent procedures.
    • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

    Schedule / Shift
    • Typically 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday.
    • Requires availability for on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled.

    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

    Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist.
    • Demonstrated experience assisting with a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures.

    Skills
    • Proficiency in sterile technique and principles of asepsis.
    • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures related to cardiovascular surgery.
    • Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical instruments and equipment operation.
    • Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs and act efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

    Certifications
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
