  • Job Summary

    We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory and Materials Management Specialist to manage, track, maintain, and support materials across warehouse and lab environments. The role involves managing Test Measurement Equipment, PreProduction Hardware such as boards and silicon, HVPIP VEET computers and servers, consumables, and other lab materials. The specialist will be responsible for shipping, receiving, tracking, auditing, labeling, reuse, movement, end-of-life preparation, and appropriate disposal or recycling of materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and a clean, organized work environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage inventory and materials across lab and warehouse environments.
    • Manage Test Measurement Equipment, PreProduction Hardware such as boards and silicon, HVPIP VEET computers and servers, and consumables.
    • Use ServiceNow for materials and inventory management activities.
    • Handle shipping, receiving, and tracking of materials.
    • Manage material check-in and check-out processes for end users.
    • Search for opportunities to reuse existing materials within the lab.
    • Move packages and equipment throughout the lab and campus using appropriate moving equipment.
    • Label materials using 2D and 3D barcodes, RFID tags, and custom labels.
    • Maintain the accuracy of various tracking systems used to manage materials.
    • Conduct periodic audits of tracked materials to validate data accuracy and identify underutilized materials.
    • Prepare physical materials for end of life, including removing items from tracking databases.
    • Wipe and sanitize equipment and remove confidential information before end-of-life processing.
    • Perform basic decontamination activities, including battery and water removal where applicable.
    • Ensure appropriate disposal and recycling of materials according to corporate requirements.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory storage areas in warehouses and labs.
    • Dispose of and recycle packing materials appropriately.
    • Operate tools and equipment such as barcode scanners, label printers, packing machines, motorized shelving, and electronic storage lockers.
    • Utilize software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, label printing software, and internal software tools such as ISMP and VortexWombat.
    • Use appropriate carts, dollies, hand trucks, and mechanical lifts to move materials and equipment.
    • Support inventory tracking, audits, material reuse, and lifecycle management activities.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and records associated with inventory and materials management.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience in inventory and materials management.
    • Good knowledge of ServiceNow tool usage.
    • Experience managing technical equipment, hardware, consumables, and other physical materials.
    • Experience with shipping, receiving, tracking, and check-in/check-out processes.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions clearly and accurately.
    • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
    • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and technologies.
    • Ability to work 100% onsite and reliably commute to the work location.
    • Reliable transportation.
    • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
    • Ability to safely use moving equipment such as carts, dollies, hand trucks, and mechanical lifts.
    • Mandatory experience with Service Desk and Windows Server.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Jira Service Desk.
    • Experience with barcode scanners, RFID systems, label printers, packing machines, motorized shelving, or electronic storage lockers.
    • Experience working in laboratory, warehouse, hardware, or technical inventory environments.
    • Familiarity with ISMP, VortexWombat, or similar internal inventory management tools.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
