Job Description:

  • Job Summary:
The Senior Java Engineer, Blockchain Platforms will build and integrate blockchain infrastructure that supports digital asset custody and tokenization platforms. This hands-on engineering role focuses on Layer 1 blockchain integration, core blockchain infrastructure services, wallet engineering, and custody-related blockchain workflows. The engineer will work closely with custody, security, and platform teams to ensure blockchain interactions are secure, reliable, observable, resilient, and production-ready.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Integrate enterprise systems with existing Layer 1 blockchains, including Ethereum-based and other relevant Layer 1 networks.
    • Evaluate and contribute to extending Layer 1 blockchain capabilities to address custody, scalability, and resiliency requirements.
    • Apply knowledge of transaction lifecycles, finality, forks, reorganizations, and event propagation.
    • Ensure blockchain integrations remain reliable under production loads and stress conditions.
    • Design and develop core blockchain infrastructure services, including indexers, event processors, block explorers, observability tools, chain data services, APIs, and interoperability components.
    • Build accurate, performant, and auditable blockchain data pipelines.
    • Develop operational tooling for troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident response.
    • Contribute to wallet architecture and development, including blockchain-facing wallet services, transaction creation, signing workflows, and submission pipelines.
    • Integrate wallet services with custody key management technologies such as MPC, HSMs, and signing services.
    • Maintain separation between blockchain protocol logic, security controls, and business rules within wallet implementations.
    • Partner with custody and security engineers to validate end-to-end transaction flows.
    • Support custody-related blockchain workflows, including on-chain transaction execution, event monitoring, reconciliation, and chain-specific failure recovery.
    • Help define secure patterns for interacting with smart contracts and token standards from custody platforms.
    • Ensure blockchain workflows align with custody policies, approvals, and risk controls.
    • Apply modern engineering practices to build reliable, testable, and observable blockchain services.
    • Leverage GenAI and agentic AI tools to support protocol analysis, software development, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
    • Maintain engineering rigor and ensure development speed does not compromise correctness, security, or reliability.

    Required Qualifications:
    • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
    • Hands-on experience building or integrating blockchain or distributed ledger systems.
    • Strong understanding of Layer 1 blockchain protocols and transaction lifecycles.
    • Experience building backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components.
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Rust, Python, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of distributed and asynchronous systems.
    • Ability to work effectively across custody, security, and platform engineering teams.
    • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex distributed environments.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with blockchain indexers, explorers, or chain analytics systems.
    • Familiarity with wallet architecture and blockchain signing workflows.
    • Exposure to crypto custody platforms or security-sensitive financial systems.
    • Experience working with MPC, HSMs, or other institutional key-management and signing technologies.
    • Experience with smart contracts and token standards.
    • Strong debugging instincts in distributed and asynchronous environments.
    • Experience using AI tooling to support complex software development.
