  • JOB SUMMARY
    As a Principal Database Administrator – Web and Data Services, this role is focused on Data Services, supporting on and off-premise installations across the enterprise. The position requires hands-on development, delivery, and support, leveraging both strong technical and influencing skills. Collaboration with various technical support teams, including cloud, engineering, and architecture, will be integral for system enhancements. This role is part of the Database Service Team within the Enterprise Data & AI Group, dedicated to implementing and supporting the enterprise database landscape through automation to ensure stable and highly available database systems.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide hands-on development, delivery, and support for Data Services across on and off-premise installations.
    • Collaborate with cloud, engineering, and architecture teams for system enhancements.
    • Implement and support enterprise database landscape through automation.
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain Oracle and related databases on Azure and AWS Cloud.
    • Perform Exadata setup and administration, covering both hardware and software aspects.
    • Manage Oracle RAC databases in both on-premise and cloud environments.
    • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using Commvault, RMAN, Snap, and Clones.
    • Conduct regular Oracle database maintenance, including backups, restores, data pump, archiving, and log reviews.
    • Build Oracle databases using ASM/NSF on RAC/Non-RAC configurations.
    • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS EC2, RDS, and Azure.
    • Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager.
    • Troubleshoot and provide 24x7 production support for high availability database systems.
    • Manage large-scale database projects.
    • Monitor database systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure Disaster Recovery readiness and production stability.
    • Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks through shell scripting.

    Required Qualifications
    • 12+ years of IT database experience with progressive growth to a technical lead role.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
    • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.

    • Demonstrated architecture and personal leadership experience.
    • Proven success in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience demonstrating leadership and collaboration in a matrix-managed environment across multiple and diverse groups.
    • Proven success supporting database systems in cloud providers.
    • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
    • Strong expertise in Exadata and ZFS storage.
    • Expertise in Oracle RAC, backup and recovery strategies.
    • Strong working knowledge in Commvault and other database backup/recovery solutions.
    • Expertise in backup & recovery and migration using RMAN, Snap and Clones.
    • In-depth knowledge of supporting Oracle RAC databases in both on premise and cloud.
    • Ability to build and deliver cloud infrastructure in AWS EC2, RDS and Azure using industry standard tools.
    • Experience building Oracle database using ASM / NSF on RAC/Non-RAC.
    • Experience in shell scripting.
    • Distributed database experience in an enterprise setting.
    • Strong experience in 24x7 production support and maintenance of high availability database systems.
