  • Job Summary
    The Senior Software Engineer will lead the development and operation of platform-scale data services using Python, FastAPI, Azure, Databricks, and PySpark. The role requires strong hands-on software engineering expertise, production application ownership, cloud-native development, and technical leadership. The engineer will collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to deliver enterprise data platform capabilities, promote engineering excellence, mentor engineers, improve development and delivery practices, and contribute to the platform’s evolution toward AI readiness, intelligent observability, and autonomous agents.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Drive product development by collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to define, scope, and lead feature development aligned with user needs and enterprise priorities.
    • Develop and operate platform-scale services using Python, FastAPI, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Databricks.
    • Design and develop APIs using FastAPI and REST API technologies.
    • Build and support cloud-native solutions using Azure services including AKS, Function Apps, and Service Bus.
    • Develop and maintain data engineering solutions using Databricks and PySpark.
    • Own production applications and ensure their reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
    • Lead engineering excellence initiatives by developing well-tested, maintainable code.
    • Champion unit testing, integration testing, and automated validation pipelines.
    • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
    • Lead retrospectives and technical design discussions to improve delivery pipelines, team workflows, and system reliability.
    • Partner with product managers to scope, estimate, and plan releases for mid- to large-scale initiatives.
    • Balance technical constraints, delivery requirements, and business value when planning initiatives.
    • Collaborate across engineering teams to promote reusable solutions and contribute to a modern, flexible data management platform.
    • Evolve engineering standards and best practices across the team and platform.
    • Contribute to a culture of craftsmanship, experimentation, and operational excellence.
    • Support the evolution of the platform toward AI readiness, including foundational capabilities for intelligent observability and autonomous agents.

    Required Qualifications
    • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
    • Strong hands-on Python development experience.
    • Strong experience with API development using FastAPI and REST APIs.
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Function Apps, and Service Bus.
    • Strong SQL skills.
    • Hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark.
    • Proven experience owning and supporting production applications.
    • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
    • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, maintainability, and operational reliability.
    • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification.
    • Cloud provider certifications such as Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
