Job Summary
The Business Analyst will serve as the primary liaison between Aftermarket Supply Chain business stakeholders and IT teams supporting enterprise mainframe-based applications. This role is responsible for requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution definition, testing coordination, production support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure technology solutions align with operational and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting supply chain processes within complex enterprise environments and possess a strong understanding of mainframe-supported systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and IT teams supporting mainframe-based applications.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements, defect resolutions, and operational support initiatives.
• Partner with development and engineering teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications and implementation plans.
• Support supply chain business processes, including warehousing, inventory management, order processing, fulfillment, returns, and related operations.
• Analyze system functionality, batch processing activities, interfaces, file transfers, data dependencies, and downstream impacts.
• Lead issue triage efforts and coordinate root cause analysis for production incidents.
• Collaborate with business, technical, and support teams to resolve operational issues and minimize business disruption.
• Create and maintain business requirements documents, process flows, functional specifications, test cases, and implementation documentation.
• Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and validation activities.
• Coordinate release planning, deployment support, communications, and post-deployment stabilization activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes, system reliability, operational efficiency, and data quality.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and drive alignment across multiple teams and priorities.
• Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives across the application landscape.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Significant experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise business applications.
• Experience working in mainframe-supported environments.
• Experience collaborating with teams supporting technologies such as COBOL, JCL, IBM Db2, IMS, batch processing, and file-based integrations.
• Strong experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
• Experience supporting supply chain, warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory management, or aftermarket operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience assessing business impacts, system dependencies, and operational risks.
• Experience facilitating discussions among business users, developers, testers, and support teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience supporting production operations, incident management, testing, and change implementation activities.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive successful outcomes in complex environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within automotive, manufacturing, aftermarket, or dealer-focused supply chain environments.
• Experience supporting warehouse management, fulfillment, order management, parts operations, or returns processes.
• Experience working with legacy-to-modern integration architectures across mainframe, distributed, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with SQL and data analysis techniques.
• Understanding of API integrations, file-based interfaces, and middleware technologies.
• Experience working within Agile, Product, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience coordinating with vendors, managed service providers, and multiple delivery organizations.
• Knowledge of release management, operational controls, and production support processes for business-critical systems.
