Job Summary
The Ab Initio ETL Developer will design, build, test, and maintain enterprise ETL applications and data integration solutions using Ab Initio. The role requires strong expertise in the Ab Initio tool suite, Unix/Linux environments, ETL lifecycle management, data reconciliation, batch and real-time interfaces, relational database integration, and large-scale data processing. The developer will also contribute to technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, documentation, knowledge transfer, performance optimization, and enterprise data integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL graphs and applications using Ab Initio.
• Work extensively with the Ab Initio tool suite and Unix/Linux environments.
• Develop solutions using GDE, Co-Operating System, Express>IT, DQE, Continuous Flows, and Amazon S3 utilities.
• Perform ETL lifecycle analysis, design, implementation, and code migration.
• Design ETL frameworks supporting audit requirements and data reconciliation.
• Develop and support both batch and real-time data interfaces.
• Develop ETL jobs for automation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Design data mappings and integrate relational databases with ETL solutions.
• Automate data loading from multiple sources into BI/MI systems.
• Process large volumes of data and optimize ETL performance.
• Prepare technical documentation and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Independently research technical problems, identify root causes, and provide effective solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Support architectural recommendations, information solutions, and technical roadmaps.
• Contribute to large-scale enterprise data integration and migration initiatives.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and support knowledge-transfer activities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience designing, building, and testing ETL graphs and applications using Ab Initio.
• Strong experience with GDE, Co-Operating System, Express>IT, DQE, Continuous Flows, and Amazon S3 utilities.
• Strong knowledge of ETL lifecycle analysis, design, implementation, and code migration.
• Experience designing ETL frameworks for audit and data reconciliation.
• Experience supporting batch and real-time interfaces.
• Strong SQL, data mapping, and relational database integration experience.
• Experience with DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum.
• Experience automating data loading from multiple sources into BI/MI systems.
• Experience processing large volumes of data and optimizing ETL performance.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and conducting knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Ability to independently research problems and develop solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior federal agency or public-sector experience.
• Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
• Experience working on Agile projects and familiarity with Agile terminology.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Experience with automated unit testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), performance analysis, and continuous integration.
• Experience providing architectural recommendations, information solutions, and technical roadmaps.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise data integration and migration initiatives.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers and facilitating knowledge transfer.
