  • Job Summary
    The Junior Data Engineer is responsible for supporting production (“Lights On”) operations for data platforms and pipelines. This role focuses on incident investigation, break-fix support, data load execution, and operational maintenance to ensure the reliability and stability of data services.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Investigate and triage data-related production incidents and support root cause analysis
    • Perform break-fix activities and ongoing maintenance to ensure system stability
    • Execute and validate routine data loads and inputs
    • Support operational tasks such as user access and system-related requests
    • Assist in compliance, audit support, and security remediation activities
    • Maintain documentation including runbooks and knowledge articles
    • Provide clear handoffs across teams and support shifts
    • Support special projects and operational requests within the production support scope
    • Run queries in restricted environments and support offshore teams as required
    • Provide flexible support across different shifts, including early mornings or late evenings

    Required Qualifications
    • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data operations, or ETL support roles
    • Strong SQL skills for writing and troubleshooting queries
    • Basic proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
    • Understanding of data pipelines, batch processing, and ETL concepts
    • Experience handling production support tasks and incident management
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to follow processes and work in a structured operational environment

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
    • Familiarity with orchestration tools and data pipeline management
    • Experience with ticketing systems and ITSM processes
    • Understanding of data governance and compliance concepts
